First, for those who may want to see the history of this Journey, here it is.
For the rest of you, below these links is a short current status. The final (?) of this series will be in June or July.
My B12 Journey. Yes, B12 was out to get me.
My B12 Journey: The first update.
My B12 Journey, My Parathyroid Journey
My B12 Journey: The Second Update
My B12 Journey: The Third Update
I had quarterly basic blood tests (as a reminder, I’m running an ongoing experimental review on myself) on March 14th. Here are the results of the ones concerning my previous High Homocysteine level:
Well, how about that?
By simply adding what I call LIVERBURGER to my diet, I have brought my Homocysteine back into the Normal Range! The B12 is at the top of the range, and my Folate, while still not optimum, has increased as well.
I believe if I do nothing more than what I’m doing now, the Folate will continue to increase. But I’m also going to add more Folate rich vegetables as well before the next tests.
Now, I know a lot of you are wondering what the heck Liverburger is. Even my SPELLCHECK doesn’t recognize it.
In a nutshell, it’s a combination of 80/20 Ground Chuck and Liver. The ratio I’m using now is about 80% of the Ground Chuck and 20% Ground Liver. You can have your local butcher make it for you. Mine is making it for me in batches of 10 lbs., and packaged in 2 lb. packages. You can adjust the ground beef/liver ratio to meet your own tastes.
Or, you can try it here, where I got started (and, no, they are not paying me to advertise for them).
75% Lean Ground Beef with Heart, Kidney, Liver - 1 lb
Some of you are already saying “But, I don’t LIKE liver!!”.
Let me just say, you actually don’t get a strong liver taste with this mix (although you do get some). And I like the taste better than just plain hamburger and it’s even much more juicy and tender.
Let me know if you have questions!
Very interesting. Can you get organic liver?
I remember that the Budwig protocol (for cancer treatment) uses liver juice from organic liver. I also remember the cod liver extract I had to take as a child which turned me off from liver for the rest of my life! A friend made liver and onions and said it did not taste like liver prepared like that. Good luck!
